Renal Supportive “Non-Dialysis” Care
Deciding not to have dialysis
Not all patients are suitable or desire to have dialysis or kidney transplantation for their kidney disease. With the aging population and increasing comorbidities, this cohort of patients is growing. A lot can be done to support patients who elect not to have dialysis treatment. In addition to ongoing medical care from your general practitioner and nephrologist, many allied health and support services can be accessed to assist in managing social, emotional and spiritual needs of patients.
